Sex-positive feminism quotes

Just been scanning the net for some inspirational quotes that sum up how i feel about women and sex :-)

“There are two kinds of sex, classical and baroque. Classical sex is romantic, profound, serious, emotional, moral, mysterious, spontaneous, abandoned, focused on a particular person, and stereotypically feminine. Baroque sex is pop, playful, funny, experimental, conscious, deliberate, amoral, anonymous, focused on sensation for sensation's sake, and stereotypically masculine. The classical mentality taken to an extreme is sentimental and finally puritanical; the baroque mentality taken to an extreme is pornographic and finally obscene. Ideally, a sexual relation ought to create a satisfying tension between the two modes (a baroque idea, particularly if the tension is ironic) or else blend them so well that the distinction disappears (a classical aspiration).” - Susie Bright

If you go out to dinner with someone, you find out what they prefer in food. We ought to be able to have a conversation to find out what people prefer when it comes to sex.
- Betty Dodson

Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice! That's the condition of the female. Women have been conditioned to sacrifice for centuries.
- Betty Dodson

If we could grow up knowing that the genitals are beautiful parts of our bodies, we'd be proud, we wouldn't have shame, we wouldn't have sexual guilt. - Betty Dodson

I think that you have to do everything you can do to empower girls when they are young, from their education, to their successful independence, to their sexual self-knowledge.
- Susie Bright

Wanting sexual attention isn't a felony, no matter how much society tries to convince teenage girls that it is. - Susie Bright

To reveal a woman’s lust is to admit a sexual power that not everyone is prepared for. - Susie Bright

When I was young, I was hurt by political ringmasters who said they wouldn’t talk, fuck or work with me because I was “bisexual.” Now that I've talked, worked, and fucked with them all, I know their secret. They desire what they condemn. - Susie Bright

Censorship is just another word for lying. - Susie Bright

RANT

I’ve always had strong views on men and women being equal but the more I get older the more it bothers me that people don't believe we are. I hate the way the majority of young people view women and their views of what they should and shouldn’t do. Firstly I am aware of the amount of whispering and looks I get for talking the way I do about sex I’m a highly confident sexually liberated women. I love sex and love talking about it, and why shouldn’t I? Because im comfortable with my sexuality and you're not? People think that being a pretty young girl talking about sex so openly is vulgar and inappropriate. It annoys me that people would rather listen to an insecure victim of the world rather than sexually liberated highly confident young women. People my age thinks it wrong to love yourself and be outspoken. The majority of young people are far to insecure and worried about how their perceived that their afraid to appear open or at ease with themselves. Why is it that people are ore drawn to a victim rather than a survivor?

I’m so sick of this generalisation of women. I’m a slight feminist myself but if women are perceived as sex objects, slaves and housewife’s who’s responsible for that? Because its certainly not men. Women act this way because they are brought up and surrounded by other women that live and think this way, they don’t have a strong, independent female role model to show them any different. Which is such a shame because if more women did there would be far more strong women out there. I’m lucky because my mother and friends helped shaped this way of thinking from a young age. My mum has told me from a young age how beautiful I was and to stand up for myself and be independent. So I’ve never really had an insecurity complex about my image or how much I’m worth (especially to men). I sometimes think men have the best deal, they get to have sexual freedom and say what they like but if a women acts that way she’d without a doubt have to justify herself at some point. If women encouraged women to love themselves and be sexually free then their wouldn’t be all these misguided women who shy away from living for their self and no one else. It kills me when girls bitch about a girl who is highly confident and comfortable with herself obviously its jealously but why are people so backwards that being secure in oneself is a crime? Me and my friends have gone through years of nasty comments from insecure women trying to make us feel lower than they already do and I feel sorry for them.

Another subject I wanted to touch on is how women complain about being sexually ‘objectified’ Yes being groped and pinched when out in public by strangers is fucking annoying and wrong. But apart from that I think women should be admired for their bodies. A women’s body is beautiful and sexy and I wouldn’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to jack off to it.

I hate how its only women that seem to be sexually objectified aswell, whos to say men arnt? I know I've dont it before. I would say I think like a man. I say it like that because thats the only way most people can comprehend what I mean. I love the way men think. I find them much more open than women, more laid back, confident, humerous and easy going. I'm not saying some women arnt these things either because most of my friends are, but so many women lack them qaulities which is why I find i gravitate more towards men in life. However there are the rubbish men that can't handle any women with an opinon or if they say anything slightly sexual. Those are the men that make me want to stand up for myself and spur me in to be even more confident. Yes I am confident, sexual, funny and I'm a girl!!! Why is this shocking?

FUNNIEST THING IVE SEEN IN A WHILE!

Telephone - Lady gaga feat. Beyonce

My favourtie fashion moments in 'Telephone' (above)
Let me start with wow. This is possibly the most inventive and artistic music video of all time. Although the song is quite shallow the video is in-depth and has many different meanings and themes throughout.I believe its truely a work of art. I love the Tarintino/kill bill inspirerd dialogue and sets, especially the fact that they even used the 'Pussy Wagon', genius. An obviouse theme i noticted was through the blatent advertising throughout the video which i think suggest how consumerism plays a big part in todays society. I Loved the tongue-in-cheek humour about the rumours within the media about gaga's 'penis' when the prision guard says 'I told you she did'nt have a dick'. The fashion, dialogue, narrative and sets all work perfectly together to create a masterpiece and landmark in pop video history.

Lovely days

Had a relaxing weekend with Matthew, love him so much. I fall in love with him all over again every time we're together...Saw Alice in wonderland and The Crazies at the cinema. Both very decent films for different reasons. Alice in wonderland made me feel like a little girl again. The Crazies was surprisingly quite scary which is an unusual characteristic in 'horror' films these days. It wasnt partically original, but was the best of the zombies-taking-over-the-world type films!

Watched Lady gaga on Jonathon Ross on friday. Her interview had me holding on to her every word as i tend to analyse her every answer looking for inspiration or wisdom in anything she says, which rarely disappoints :-)
